Rate of play: 20 minutes each with 10 second increment per move.
RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
- You must have ECF GOLD or PLATINUM membership to enter the competition. Non-members or BRONZE members will need to upgrade their membership to enter the club*
- The Oct 2024 ECF Rapidplay ratings will be used to determine seeding.
- In lieu of a Rapidplay rating, the organisers will determine a player’s rating based on other available information (eg. Standard play rating, online etc)
- Seeded Swiss pairings will be made by controllers using a computer program based on ECF or comparable rules. Pairings between members of the same family or club etc. will be avoided, if possible, at the sole discretion of the controller.
- The current FIDE Laws of Chess will apply.
- No time penalty for 1st completed illegal move but 2nd illegal move forfeits the game.
- All fees must be paid before play starts. Late entries at the venue are at the discretion of the organisers; please phone first to check availability of places.
- All prizes are subject to the number of entries.
- If a player qualifies for more than one prize, the higher valued prize shall be awarded as determined by the Controller.
- Smoking is not permitted on the premises.
- Mobile Phones must be switched off or on silent.
- Tournament equipment may not be removed from the playing area.
- Photos of the event will be taken and used for publicity, please inform the organisers if you do not want your or your child’s image to be published.
- Players agree to abide by the decisions of the controllers and accept that in all matters relating to the tournament the decisions of the organisers are final.
*we have decided to mandate that Bronze ECF members must upgrade to Gold or Platinum as the upgrade fee would have to be added to the entrance fee, which automatically upgrades the membership to Gold anyway. This gives the player the opportunity to choose which upgrade option they wish and reduces the administration burden on the tournament organisers. You can upgrade by logging on to your membership account the system should charge pro rata according to when you upgrade.
