Rate of play: 20 minutes each with 10 second increment per move.
RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
- You must have ECF GOLD or PLATINUM membership to play in the competition. Non-members or BRONZE members will need to pay a fee to upgrade their membership to GOLD during the registration process.
- Note that Juniors and Students who have not been members of the ECF before can register with the ECF for free for the first year.
- The Oct 2025 ECF Rapidplay ratings will be used to determine seeding.
- In lieu of a Rapidplay rating, the organisers will determine a player’s rating based on other available information (eg. Standard play rating, online etc)
- Seeded Swiss pairings will be made by controllers using a computer program based on ECF or comparable rules. Pairings between members of the same family or club etc. will be avoided, if possible, at the sole discretion of the controller.
- The current FIDE Laws of Chess will apply.
- No time penalty for 1st completed illegal move but 2nd illegal move forfeits the game.
- All fees must be paid before play starts. Late entries at the venue are at the discretion of the organisers; please phone first to check availability of places.
- All prizes are subject to the number of entries.
- If a player qualifies for more than one prize, the higher valued prize shall be awarded as determined by the Controller.
- Smoking is not permitted on the premises.
- Mobile Phones must be switched off or on silent.
- Tournament equipment may not be removed from the playing area.
- Photos of the event will be taken and used for publicity, please inform the organisers if you do not want you or your dependent's image to be published.
- Players agree to abide by the decisions of the controllers and accept that in all matters relating to the tournament the decisions of the organisers are final.
